The Bianchello roads
The land surrounding Metauro Valley is a land of excellence. The pride of this area is definitely the Bianchello del Metauro DOC, a wine with a thousand-year-old history that had a relevant role during the Carthaginians’ invasion.
Roman historian Tacitus says that during the terrible battle of Metauro in 207 B.C. the Romans won against the Carthaginians’ army led by Asdrubale, because of the wine drank in the euphoria of the battle’s eve.
The DOC wine is produced by local wineries, which organize also guided tours and wine tastings.
